Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna State lawmaker, has fired back at FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's criticism, highlighting his own political significance and suggesting future involvement in Nigerian politics.

In a Channels TV interview, Shehu Sani countered Wike's assessment of his senatorial impact, advocating for face-to-face interactions over televised debates.

Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike questioned Shehu Sani's effectiveness as a senator during the 8th Assembly, suggesting that activists often face challenges in government positions.

Sani, calling Wike a friend, expressed a preference for responding to him in person rather than on television, highlighting Wike's tendency to avoid immediate responses.

Sani defended his political contributions, emphasizing his advocacy for democracy and the sacrifices made during the struggle against military rule. He asserted that their efforts paved the way for Nigeria's current political freedom.

Sani pointed out that individuals like Wike wouldn't hold their current positions without the sacrifices made during the fight against military rule, emphasizing that they are beneficiaries of those efforts.

Sani responded diplomatically to the FCT minister's criticisms of his Senate tenure, noting the general nature of the comments and acknowledging Wike's indirect benefit from Nigeria's democratic progress.

Sani, acknowledging their shared experiences and age, concluded with a measured tone, hinting at a future response to Wike's premature conclusions and suggesting continued dialogue between them.
