On 2nd July, 2024 the member of the House of Representatives representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency from Sokoto State, Honorable Dasuki Abdussamad while reacting to the recent suicide bomb blast at Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State that claimed the lives of more than thirty people and left many others injured revealed that people were killed and nobody had been sacked, stating that it is high time they find people responsible for protecting the lives and properties of the good citizens of the country.

According to TheCable, the member of the House of Representatives representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency from Sokoto State, Honorable Dasuki Abdussamad said "We had a jailbreak; nobody has been sacked. People are killed; nobody has been sacked. It is high time we find somebody responsible. The earlier we look for a scapegoat — which is justifiable. These guys have not lived up to expectations. Every single day, we have a minimum of three security motions, and lives are lost. It is high time we came up with a resolution. I think more than 50 percent of the resolutions of the 10th assembly are security-related. So, let’s find the culprit. We have our committees that are living up to expectations. They can look at those who have not done what is expected of them, and somebody should be held responsible.”

On the other hand, the member of the House of Representatives from Plateau State, Yusuf Gagdi said that the security-related committees must meet the expectations of the parliament by holding the security agencies they oversee accountable for their actions, ensuring the breakdown of law and order was addressed. He also added that the committees should neither befriend nor antagonize security agencies but hold them to account for the current security challenges facing the country.
