According to reports from Hebrew media, the sister of Hamas's top leader, Ismail Haniyeh, has been granted release to house arrest by a court following her indictment for charges related to incitement and affiliation with a terrorist organization, according to AP.

Sabah Haniyeh, aged 57, who holds Israeli citizenship and resides in southern Israel, was born in Gaza. Her arrest took place in early April, with the subsequent indictment occurring on April 21. Today, she was released to house arrest pending further legal proceedings.

The indictment against Haniyeh alleges that she disseminated multiple messages through WhatsApp groups, wherein she expressed support and praise for the October 7 attack. These messages were purportedly sent to groups that included members of the extended Haniyeh family.

Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, currently resides in exile in Qatar, highlighting the transnational nature of the organization's leadership and operations.

The decision to release Sabah Haniyeh to house arrest reflects the ongoing legal process surrounding her case and underscores the complexities involved in addressing charges related to terrorist activities and affiliations within the context of Israeli law.
