A motorist got trapped inside his vehicle in the early hours of Saturday, July 13, 2024, after he ran into a stationary trailer on a highway in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LAWMA), which announced the accident on its X handle, said it occurred around 6:00 a.m. along the Ikorodu Road.
It was gathered that the motorist, who drove a Toyota Venza, was reportedly on top speed when suddenly saw a stationary trailer in his front.

At that moment, however, he could no longer control the vehicle as he ran into the trailer from behind, causing massive damage to his car.
In the video posted by LASTMA regarding the accident, the motorist was seen trapped in the driver's seat of the vehicle while LASTMA officials as well as paramedic and other emergency officials were seen making frantic efforts to bring him out of the damaged vehicle.
People were also seen encouraging the motorist as he looked very tired inside the white Toyota Venza.
LASTMA wrote: "A Toyota Venza ran into a stationary Mercedes Benz trailer and the driver got trapped in the car.
"LASTMA officials and all other emergency units are on ground to manage the situation and maintain sanity."
The accident caused traffic bottleneck at the stretch of the road while policemen and LASTMA officials were busy controlling the traffic situation.
