Barcelona made a promising start to the game when Fermin Lopez gave them the lead. Hugo Duro equalized for Valencia then Pepelu scored in the 38th minutes to give Valencia the lead. Valencia got reduced to ten men at the stroke of halftime as their goalkeeper Mamardashvili was sent off. Barcelona started the second half strongly as Robert Lewandowski scored to draw the game level. The Barcelona striker scored two goals to snatch the 4-2 victory.
