In a report by Vanguard, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confiscated aphrodisiac products and sex enhancement drugs worth N12 million in Sokoto. The products, valued at N12 million, were seized by NAFDAC's patrol team during routine market sweeps in Sokoto and its surrounding areas.

According to NAFDAC's Coordinator in the state, Mr. Garba Adamu, the products in question were unregistered and pose a significant risk to public health due to the harmful ingredients used in their preparation. Additionally, they are aesthetically unappealing due to the explicit images featured on their packaging.

He said, ”We also call on the general public to always report hawkers and dealers of such products to NAFDAC, as well as report any adverse reactions they may get from taking such products or any other regulated products.

“Some marketers are in the habit of dumping expired or about-to-expire products in markets in Sokoto and environs, while some are taken to border markets and rural areas for consumption,” he said.

Reacting to the news, netizens praised NAFDAC for their efforts in seizing the harmful products, with some expressing surprise that such a raid occurred in a conservative state like Sokoto, known for its strong religious values. Here are some reactions:
