All Progressives Congress (APC) caretaker publicity secretary in Rivers State Chibike Ikenga has identified certain factors that have contributed to the state's troubles. He stressed that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is largely to blame because he has not kept his promises.

In an interview for "The Morning Brief" on Channels Television, Ikenga went into further detail about how the governor's actions, in his opinion, have made the situation worse. He brought attention to the fact that Martins Amaewhule is leading the Rivers State House of Assembly and that Governor Fubara has taken action to deprive them of their salary and benefits.

This is a matter of compromise, Ikenga said. While continuing to act alone, the governor has disregarded the most important and strategic components of this situation. "The Governor went ahead to say that he does not recognise a properly constituted House of Assembly; this is not right," he said, continuing to criticise the governor's position. The crisis has been worsened even worse by cutting off their wage and allowance payments.

Ikenga has made it plain that Fubara's activities have caused a great deal of discontent, even though his status as governor is not in dispute. According to him, "Nobody is disputing that he is the governor; the issue of his position being threatened through an impeachment process has been withdrawn."

As a statesman and leader of Rivers State, Ikenga emphasised the governor's role in his critique. He insisted that Fubara should prioritise the public good. Ikenga claims that the problems in the state stem from Fubara's inaction in this matter.
