According to a report by Sky Sports, Pep Guardiola has expressed the significance of Manchester City's upcoming Champions League fixtures against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Club Brugge. Guardiola acknowledged the pressure, stating that these matches could define their qualification chances for the next round of the competition.“Well, both teams have two matches. It’s a really important game for us, PSG. But we have another game against Brugge at home. I don’t know how many points we’ll need to qualify,” Guardiola said. The Manchester City manager outlined the possibility of qualifying with one victory but emphasized that two wins would guarantee progression.

Reflecting on their earlier challenges this season, Guardiola admitted that the competition has been particularly difficult for the team. “They punished us, the game against Feyenoord, but especially all of this competition with more games. It was the most difficult moment of the season for the problems everybody knows we had, and we could not handle it,” he explained. The manager highlighted that unexpected circumstances contributed to their struggles but insisted on the importance of accepting such outcomes.

Guardiola remains pragmatic about the team’s prospects, emphasizing the importance of resilience and moving forward. “We could not expect to be in that position, and we have to accept it. In the end, if we don’t qualify, accept that we were not good enough. Sport is as simple as that; there are other contenders and competitors that sometimes are better, accept it, move forward,” he concluded. The upcoming fixtures will be crucial as City aims to secure their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
