Legal expert Liborous Oshoma has spoken on the current issue in the Rivers State House of Assembly, saying that there is no dilemma in the case.

During a TVC News interview, Oshoma brought out a comparable instance that happened under former Governor Amaechi, in which Evans Bipi led five members in an attempt to suspend 26 legislators, a move that sparked outcry.

Oshoma observed that the same people who at the time denounced the acts of the five members are now making an effort to defend comparable acts by claiming that the roles have reversed.

He underlined that there is no paradox in the circumstances and that the fundamental principle is still in place—that is, five members can suspend 26 legislators.

He said, "When Amaechi was governor, five members of the same Rivers House of Assembly led by Evans Bipi attempted to suspend 26 lawmakers."

"And it led to a crisis, and people condemned that act that five members cannot suspend 26."

"And today, the people who condemned those five members are the ones saying five members of the House of Assembly can suspend 26 members; the tables are turned today, so there's no conundrum."
