Manchester United are set to welcome back Mason Mount for their upcoming Premier League encounter against Burnley this weekend, according to Manchester World.

Mount, who recently returned from a three-month injury layoff, suffered another setback before United's FA Cup final against Coventry City.

Despite his limited appearances this season, the 25-year-old midfielder managed to score his maiden goal for the club against Brentford last month.

Erik ten Hag, United's manager, confirmed Mount's return to the squad, although he is unlikely to feature in the starting lineup against Burnley.

Ten Hag expressed optimism about the progress of several other key players who have been sidelined due to injuries.

Speaking to reporters, Ten Hag stated, "No positive injury news, apart from Mason Mount, who will return to the squad."

When questioned about the status of other long-term absentees such as Luke Shaw, Martinez, and Anthony Martial, Ten Hag indicated that he expects them to make a comeback before the end of the season.

"Yes, I think so," replied Ten Hag when asked about the trio's potential return. "I think we are all going to see them back in action this season.

They returned to the pitch recently, and next week, they will resume team training. We believe they can be available for the final weeks of the season as they are progressing well."
