FCT: It’s not Tinubu’s responsibility to identify criminals – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike on Friday, declared it is not President Bola Tinubu’s responsibility to identify where criminals are.

Wike said Tinubu would provide security tools, but the security agencies are saddled with the responsibility to confront criminals.

He spoke, while presenting 50 operational vehicles fitted with communication gadgets to security agencies in Abuja.

Wike, however, assured that security is one of Tinubu’s key priorities.

The Police in Osun, have arrested a commercial bus driver, Olalekan Amos, 54, who allegedly stole three sound amplifiers worth N4.5 million, which he was to deliver for a customer.

SP Yemisi Opalola, Police Spokesperson in Osun, made this known during the parade of criminal suspects at the state police headquarters in Osogbo.

According to Opalola, a complainant in Edo State reported that sometime in March, he employed the service of the suspect to help him deliver three amplifiers, worth N1.5 million each, to one of his customers in Osogbo.

“The complainant, knew the suspect to be a commercial bus driver that ply the Benin (Edo State) to Osogbo (Osun State) route, so he employed his service to help him deliver the amplifiers.

Former United States President, Donald Trump has celebrated the election of fellow populist Nigel Farage to Britain’s parliament, neglecting to applaud the new Prime Minister, Keir Starmer.

Farage’s Reform UK party, known for its anti-immigration stance, won the third largest vote haul.

However, under Britain’s electoral system, it took just four seats while Starmer’s Labour Party swept into office with a landslide.

“Congratulations to Nigel Farage on his big WIN of a Parliament Seat Amid Reform UK Election Success. Nigel is a man who truly loves his Country!” Trump wrote on Truth Social platform.

I’m not worried about A’Court judgment, says Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has said that he is neither deterred nor worried by Thursday’s Appeal Court judgement, which returned Martin Amaewhule and 24 other lawmakers to the State House of Assembly.

The Appeal Court, had nullified the order of a Rivers State High Court, which restrained Amaewhule and the other lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, from parading themselves as lawmakers.

The court also said only the Federal High Court, has the jurisdiction to entertain the matter of the lawmakers.

Meanwhile, Fubara has assured that his administration, will not waver in its commitment to providing the critical infrastructure required for the speedy development of the State.
