In major parts of Lagos state since this week, it has been raining heavily with various videos from each street surfacing online, which has caused a lot of questions with people asking the Lagos government what they are doing concerning the various floods. Amid the rain, a video has surfaced online showing the state of Iyana-Oworo, Olopo Meji area, heading to the third mainland bridge, this morning completely flooded there-by, causing long traffic that extends to Alapere.

After that video surfaced online, it got the attention of Sanwo-Olu's commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Lagos State. The tweet from Tokunbo Wahab reads;

"The Olopo Meji inward 3rd Mainland situation is a flash flood that is due to the high intensity of the rain, long duration rain coupled with high tidal lagoon levels at the moment. Be rest assured it would go away in about 1-2 hours. As the high tidal level of the lagoon goes down, the rain/storm water will be able to discharge into the lagoon."
