Edo: APC Not Behind PDP Crisis – Oshiomhole

Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole clarified that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not involved in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election crisis in Edo State. The Federal High Court in Abuja nullified the PDP primary election due to the unlawful exclusion of 378 delegates. Oshiomhole emphasized that the APC cannot interfere in PDP’s internal conflicts and urged parties to adhere to laws governing primary elections. He highlighted ongoing divisions within the PDP, attributing their issues to internal disputes.

Rivers Crisis: Pressures mount on Gov Fubara to dump PDP

The political crisis in Rivers State intensified after an Appeal Court ruling favored Martins Amaewhule and 26 Assembly members, causing celebrations among Nyesom Wike's supporters. This ruling increased tensions and highlighted the division between Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Some suggest Fubara should leave the PDP due to a lack of support, while others, like Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe, argue it's too early to decide. The Labor Party expressed openness to Fubara joining them. Governor Fubara criticized the PDP for failing Rivers State, emphasizing local movements over party allegiance.

Osun police arrest ally to alleged kidnap kingpin, Emir, several others

The Osun State Police Command arrested John Olowosaye, an accomplice of alleged kidnap kingpin Olalekan Oyeyemi, a.k.a. Emir, in connection with a 2023 abduction in Ede. Ransom payments of N2.6 million were made to Oyeyemi. Other suspects were also arrested for various crimes, including armed robbery, conspiracy, and unlawful possession of firearms. Recovered items included guns, vehicles, and phones. The suspects will face charges upon completing the investigation.
