Former Minister of State for Transport, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, has urged Nigerians to look beyond President Bola Tinubu’s recent fall but should learn from his contagious strength, resilience, and commitment to good governance.

Adegoroye, in a statement added after watching the viral video of President Tinubu’s fall during the Democracy Day celebrations, said his initial shock and concern gave way to a deep sense of admiration and respect for him.

He said, “Here is a man in his late 70s, who had just suffered a public tumble, yet he got up, dusted himself off, and continued with the event as if nothing had happened.

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has cautioned Nigerians against gloating over the fall of President Bola Tinubu during the Democracy Day celebration.

Tinubu tripped and fell while trying to climb the truck on his way to give his speech at Eagles Square in Abuja on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, to mark Democracy Day.

A viral video showed that the President lost his footing while stepping into the presidential parade vehicle and in the process fell before he was helped by his security entourage.

Several top personalities have so far reacted to President Tinubu's fall including Obi who described the incident as unfortunate, adding that no one achieves anything by gloating. X

Court Remands 2 REA Staff Over Alleged N1.8bn Fraud

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has remanded two staff of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) pending the hearing of a N1.835 billion fraud allegation against them.

The two staff, Umar Musa Karaye and Emmanuel Pada Titus, were brought before the court over allegation of N1.835bn fraud.

They were arraigned alongside two others by the Independent and Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) before Justice Emeka Nwite, over alleged fraud, criminal conspiracy and diversion of public funds amounting to N1.835bn.

10th Senate Passed 25 Legislations, 115 Resolutions In 1 Year — Majority Leader

The Senate leader, Senator Bamidele Opeyemi, has disclosed that under Godswill Akpabio as President, the 10th Senate has passed 25 legislations and 115 resolutions in the last one year.

In a statement marking the first year anniversary of the 10th National Assembly on June 13, Bamidele highlighted the accomplishments and strategic collaborations of the Senate over the past year.

Bamidele emphasised the importance of the Parliament in nurturing and promoting representative democracy in Nigeria.
