Crystal Palace Plotting Swap Deal With Arsenal For Olise

Crystal Palace is preparing for the potential departure of Michael Olise from Selhurst Park this summer and has started discussions with Arsenal about acquiring Reiss Nelson. The 22-year-old Olise has attracted interest from Chelsea and Newcastle, both of whom have contacted Palace about a transfer, as reported by Sky Sports.

Despite renewing his contract with Crystal Palace last summer, Olise is tied to the club until 2027 with a £60 million release clause, making him an attractive target for potential suitors.

Crystal Palace, as per CaughtOffside, has begun searching for replacements for Olise, with Arsenal's Reiss Nelson emerging as a top contender. Nelson, 24, is also being monitored by Fulham, West Ham United, and Nottingham Forest, but Palace has taken the first steps in securing his transfer.

As per report from Leadership News, Crystal Palace is reportedly preparing an initial bid of around €10 million for Reiss Nelson, while Arsenal is seeking €25 million for the winger. Nelson, who has seen limited playing time under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, played only 255 minutes in the Premier League this season. A move to Selhurst Park could provide him with more consistent playing opportunities and a chance to progress in his career.

David Ornstein has indicated that Nelson is contemplating his options this summer, increasing the likelihood of a transfer. Arsenal turned down several offers for Nelson in the January transfer window but are now willing to consider selling him for approximately £20 million (€23.7 million).

Nelson is looking for more regular Premier League action at his next club compared to his time at Arsenal. Although he extended his contract with Arsenal last summer, he started just one Premier League match and appeared in only 22 games across all competitions during the season. His current agreement with Arsenal runs until 2027, with an option for an additional year, giving Arsenal flexibility in deciding whether to sell him.

However, offloading Nelson could significantly enhance Arsenal's summer transfer budget. The club is focused on complying with the Premier League's profit and sustainability (PSR) regulations, with player sales playing a vital role in funding new signings while adhering to these financial guidelines.
