A Member of Chibok/Damboa/Gwoza Constituency, Ahmadu Jaha has revealed that within his own family, there are individuals who sympathize and work with Boko Haram members.

He identified that this sympathy often extends beyond mere support to active involvement, as sympathizers might provide valuable information to the insurgents. He further explained that this attitude is not limited to his family but is widespread in the community. He stated that many people in the Gwoza community continue to communicate with Boko Haram members who are hiding in the bush.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, "Even in my family, we have people who sympathize and work with Boko Haram members. And by that, it is not just sympathy but also membership by extension. If you sympathize with someone, you might provide them with information.

There is a fifth columnist attitude in operations, whether we like it or not. We have people in our community who are still communicating with Boko Haram in the bush, which I believe the security agencies are still addressing."
