Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Oba Maduabuchi has declared that PDP defectors' admissions to the APC that they left their original party are legally binding and cannot be reversed by judicial decisions. In an interview with Arise News, Maduabuchi highlighted that the defectors had admitted leaving the PDP and joined the APC in sworn documents filed in a number of courts. He went on to say that their recorded public proclamations and festivities provide as additional evidence of their admittance.

Legal expert Maduabuchi emphasized that although courts might find in favor of the defectors, a court lacking jurisdiction is not allowed to make a legally enforceable ruling, no matter how the case turns out. He reaffirmed his dedication to protecting the Constitution and the rule of law.

According to him; "The most these PDP members can do is to pretend that they did not decamp and that's what they've been trying to do m, but they forgot that they have sworned affidavit in various courts admitting that they left their party and joined APC. When they were dancing and singing on your mandate we stand, they were recorded. So I do not see how that will be any problem for anybody, but we as Lawyers we believe in the rule of law. If a Court does not have jurisdiction, no matter how well the thing is decided. It does not have jurisdiction"
