In a fervent call for accountability, Elder Statesman Edwin Clark has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to revisit and probe all former governors accused of embezzling public funds during their tenures. This demand comes in the wake of the EFCC's investigation into Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, for alleged financial mismanagement.

In a letter addressed to the head of the EFCC, Clark emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to uphold President Bola Tinubu's anti-corruption agenda. He implored the commission to expedite the trials of former governors who have been accused of living luxuriously while many Nigerians continue to face economic hardships.

During an interactive segment on Arise TV, Clark reiterated his stance, stressing the importance of holding accountable those who have allegedly exploited their positions for personal gain. He remarked, "Those who have been jailed for over 10 years have returned to Nigeria and are living a free life."
