According to The Sun, The Obidients Movement, inspired by Peter Obi, has begun preparations for the 2027 general elections in Nigeria, aiming to mobilize over 2 million volunteers through the Obidients Harmonisation Committee (OHC). The movement's determination was highlighted on June 8, 2024, with the inauguration of steering committees in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. This strategic move aims to solidify their grassroots support and strengthen their influence nationwide in anticipation of the upcoming elections.

In an interview with Comrade Joseph Enan Maigari, the National Chairman of the OHC, he emphasized the movement’s unwavering support for Peter Obi and the vision he represents. Maigari expressed that the Obidients are fully committed to the principles and ideals that Obi embodies, which drive their dedication to Nigeria's progress. He highlighted the importance of unity and solidarity within the movement, underscoring that their support will always align with Obi's direction.

Addressing the internal conflicts within the Labour Party, particularly the faction led by Julius Abure, Maigari clarified the stance of the Obidients Harmonisation Committee. He stated that the Obidients are resolute in their mission and will only support individuals and groups that genuinely uphold the Nigerian dream. The movement’s loyalty to Peter Obi remains steadfast, and they are prepared to adapt and follow his leadership wherever it may lead.

As the Obidients Movement gears up for the 2027 elections, their focus on mobilization and unity reflects a strong commitment to making a significant impact on Nigeria's political landscape. By rallying millions of volunteers and reinforcing their organizational structure, the movement aims to continue advocating for the changes they believe in, inspired by Peter Obi's vision for a better Nigeria.

He said: As Obidients, we are ready to support anyone who carries the Nigerian dream, like Peter Obi, because the Obidients movement is a coinage from Obi so that is why we are here; we are standing firm on what we believe. We support him one hundred per cent, and anywhere he moves, we can take our slippers and baggage and move with him.
