Elder statesman, Chief Timothy Anjide, has frowned at the recent unrest in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State between the Alago and coexisting Tiv farmers over land dispute.

Anjide, a former Secretary to the State Government in a statement on Thursday described the incident as sad and admonished youths specifically to embrace peace and shun violence.

The former SSG described peace as the “sine quo non of every positive thing you want to achieve in life” and therefore appealed to youths to work for peace and guard it jealously as their heritage.

“On the current situation in Keana and indeed other parts of our dear state and country, I earnestly appeal to our youths for whom the present is the link to their own future to develop a vision of peace, love peace and work for peace.

“Take the initiative. Infact, seize it from us of the elderly generation, work for peace and guard it jealously as your heritage.

“Peace is the ‘sine qua non’ of every positive thing you want to achieve in life. May we all harken to the voice of God in our hearts to grant us peace,” he advised.

Meanwhile, Governor Abdullahi Sule has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the security of lives and property for development to thrive. -According to a post on Nasarawa Mirror's Facebook Page.
