Hashim Dungurawa, the NNPP chairman in Kano State, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is causing instability in the state by attempting to impose Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, on the Emirate due to their shared Yoruba ancestry.
The Leadership reported that he made this statement when he was speaking to reporters in Kano about the accomplishments of the NNPP-led government in the state.
According to Dungurawa, the police, Nigerian Army, DSS, and other security services have no justification for providing Emir Bayero with extra protection since it would go against the wishes of the state administration.
He issued a warning, saying that in 2027, President Tinubu will suffer the consequences of his purported intervention in the Kano Emirate dispute.
He warned, “Your perceived stance on the ongoing Kano Emirate Tussle will surely work against you in 2027 because if you think you can use it to gain ground in Kano when the chips are down, you will realize your mistakes."
“If the President thinks he will use a few of his kinsmen in Kano and the alleged Bayero’s Yoruba lineage to continue to keep the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero in the state, let him wait for 2027; we will show him that those people will not help him.”
He then pleaded with the President to use common sense and take all necessary steps to ensure that the deposed Emir was removed from Kano, thereby ending the disastrous Kano Emirate.
In order to ensure that Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso becomes the next president of Nigeria, Dungurawa clarified that his party will continue to run Dr. Kwankwaso as its presidential candidate in the 2027 election cycle.
