The Nigeria Army's 82 Division General Officer Commanding, Enugu, has been urged by the Logara community in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Imo State, to look into the death of a soldier named Vitalis Eke. The soldier died on June 16, 2024, at Aba, in Abia State.

According to a report by Punch. The Army authorities claimed that the soldier committed himself, while members of his community said they thought the officer was assassinated.

The community claimed in a petition to the GOC, 82 Division, Enugu, that the soldier's death was not the only one, as the soldier was a native of the village.

The soldier had three months to retire, and the petition, signed by I. C. Otti and Max Amadi on behalf of Logara Community Development Union, claimed that he was killed.

The petition read in part, “We are solicitors to the Logara Community Development Union (hereinafter referred to as our client) and on whose express instruction we address the instant petition/SOS to you."
