Watch Your Tongue, Govt Monitoring Social Media - Portable

Controversial singer and songwriter Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable Omolalomi has warned his colleagues and fans to mind what they say or post on social media to avoid being on the wrong side of the law.

He said his warning should be taken seriously because government agents monitor social media events.

He shared his recent experience with the Inspector-General of Police, Singer Naira Marley and his friend, Sam Larry.

A renowned activist and coordinator of the Free Nigeria Movement, Moses Paul, has described the actions of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in the nation’s capital as disgraceful.

Paul was reacting to a recent comment by Wike that the FCT Senator, Ireti Kingibe will not return to the Senate in 2027.

His statement generated mixed reactions, with many slamming him for making undemocratic comments when he is not even eligible to vote in the FCT.

Insecurity: Over 277 guns close to NASS – Jimoh Ibrahim

Ondo South Senator, Jimoh Ibrahim, says there are over 277 guns and other assorted weapons in less than 1,000 metres to the National Assembly as at Wednesday.

He disclosed this while speaking on a motion on the suicide attacks in Gwoza, Borno State, which led to killing of 36 persons.

The motion was sponsored by Senator Ali Ndume, Borno South.

Ibrahim lamented the resurgence of suicide bombing, saying the dastardly act that took place in Gwoza on 29th June, 2024 has taken the nation aback and cautioned that living with insecurity was gradually becoming the only way to understand security.

Harvard Business School: Nigeria’s reputation at stake – Peter Obi

The Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has lamented that Nigeria’s reputation and attractiveness to international institutions and investors has recently been severely impacted by major obvious drawbacks.

Obi said this on Wednesday via his X while reacting to the omission of Nigeria from the Harvard Business School class of 2025 program, which selected sixteen countries for its global immersion course.

He said the omission of Nigeria, despite the program leader being a Nigerian professor, is particularly striking given the country’s potential and capabilities.
