President William Ruto criticized top government officials for their arrogance and display of wealth during an X-space session on July 5th. Ruto revealed he had personally reprimanded officials, including Senator Karen Nyamu, for their behavior. The head of state defended some young leaders, saying they needed his guidance and mentorship as they tended to get carried away. Ruto announced plans to make changes in his government but ruled out dissolving the Cabinet entirely.

During his X-space session on Friday, July 5th, Ruto said some top officials in his government lacked manners. He claimed he had, on occasions, been forced to call them to order due to their display of opulence, which had angered the public.

This also comes as a significant outrage was made on social media (X) on Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen's (Cabinet Secretary Roads and Transport) Ksh1.4M Rolex watch.

"I agree that some of our officials are arrogant, speak out of turn, and display obnoxious opulence, if I may say so. This not only angers the public but also concerns me. Sometimes I call them and give them a piece of my mind," Ruto said.

The president specifically singled out Senator Karen Nyamu, revealing he had sat her down on several occasions and advised her to change her ways.
