The boy, Hussaini Abubakar, revealed his father, Abubakar Nuhu, confined him to prevent theft. Nuhu was arrested for child abuse. Band A customers: NLC demands new tariff hike reversal

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) criticized the recent tariff hike for Band A customers, increasing from N206.80 to N209.5 per kilowatt-hour. NLC President Joe Ajaero demanded an immediate reversal, accusing the government of insensitivity and insincerity. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission approved the hike due to high operational costs from rising inflation and exchange rate fluctuations. Ajaero highlighted that this increase follows an unresolved 250% tariff hike that caused significant economic strain. He argued that the government and energy sector entities are not serious about resolving the energy crisis and called the new hike unjustifiable and harmful to the economy.
