According to a recent report by The VANGUARD, Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has lamented the perceived injustice meted out to Ihedioha, who, he contends, would have rightfully assumed the governorship mantle in Imo State were it not for what he describes as the regrettable intervention of the Supreme Court.

Expressing his dismay, Lamido scrutinized the handling of internal party dynamics, particularly within the PDP, asserting that Ihedioha's sacrifice in deferring his gubernatorial aspirations to accommodate Anyanwu, the National Secretary, was not reciprocated with fairness by the party's leadership.

In a scathing indictment of the judicial system, Lamido criticized what he perceives as unwarranted interference in party affairs, citing the judiciary's purported support for Anyanwu's dual occupancy of the National Secretary position and the gubernatorial candidacy.

Reflecting on the broader implications of these developments, Lamido opined that the annals of PDP's history would inevitably chronicle the contentious role played by the courts, particularly within the political landscape of the Southeast geopolitical zone.

Recalling a pivotal moment in the unfolding saga, Lamido recounted Anyanwu's categorical statement regarding his potential defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), suggesting a lack of receptivity towards such a move.

In response to queries regarding his own political trajectory, Lamido dismissed speculation of a potential defection to the APC, citing doubts over his acceptance within the ranks of the ruling party. Implicitly challenging the inclusivity of the APC, Lamido invoked the name of President Bola Tinubu, a prominent figure within the party.

In his words, "The leadership of the party was extremely unfair to Ihedioha who first asked if Anyanwu will contest for governor and when Anyanwu said yes, Ihedioha left it for him and yet, Anyanwu still did not leave the post of National secretary. It is not fair.”
