Six on Police Radar Over Youth Demos

The Wednesday nation reports that six people are currently on the radar of detectives over the recent violent demonstrations which have caused chaos after goons infiltrated the gen z protests.

The six reportedly include prominent politicians, two NGOs and a businessman. They are accused of sponsoring the violent demonstrations across the country.

As the demonstrations entered the third week, the protests have become violent and deadly as goons were seen on Tuesday vandalising properties, snatching phones from other demonstrators and causing discomfort to other protestors.

The President, his deputy , Members of parliament and cabinet secretaries have earned a salary raise. This has infuriated some Kenyans as the move comes amidst the tax pain that Kenyans are currently facing.

The unrelenting gen z youths hit the streets on Tuesday for the third week in a row. Their aim was to show their disgruntlement with the Ruto adminstration.

Days after the televised joint interview on Sunday, some of the protestors showed dissatisfaction with the president for how he performed during the interview.

They felt the president lacked the wisdom to handle or understand their grievances.

In the Tuesday protests, the aim was to occupy all spaces and cause a shutdown.

The Star reports that the Tuesday demonstrations showed thugs interfered with the peaceful demonstrations being staged by gen Z youth. The goons conduct of the goons has raised speculations on what their intentions are and who is sponsoring them.

Kenyans to Pay More Phone and TV Taxes

The publication reports that after the finance bill was dropped,the East African Customs law has given president Ruto a chance to increase levies on key household items which will include baby diapers.

Azimio leader Raila led his other lieutenants in calling out the recent brutality on protestors by the police. Raila condemned the recent killings and said the police should be held accountable.

On the same note, MPs in the ODM party who voted Yes to the finance bill were warned that the party will recall them.
