A source within the Joint Task Force (JTF) has revealed that a devastating sequence of events unfolded in Gwoza town, Borno State, where a bomb blast occurred at a wedding. As mourners gathered to bury the victims of the initial blast, a second bomber, disguising themselves as a mourner, detonated another Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the burial site, claiming even more lives. This tragic incident highlights the brutal tactics employed by the perpetrators, who showed no regard for human life even in a moment of grief and mourning.
As reported by The Punch News, JTF source said, "The first bomber was a nursing mother carrying a baby on her back when she stormed the venue at Tashan Mararaba near the Fire Service in Gwoza town and detonated the IED. The other incident happened shortly after, while the mourners were trying to bury the dead persons, another bomber disguised as a mourner detonated another IED at the burial ground, killing more people and injuring several other people who were rushed to the General Hospital in Gwoza for medical treatment."
