In a recent Facebook post shared on Thursday, July 4, 2024, Reverend Father Kelvin Ugwu urged Christians to reconsider their approach to prayer, emphasizing the importance of not disturbing their neighbors during moments of devotion.

"Don't disturb your neighbours when you pray," Father Kelvin Ugwu stated.

He referenced Luke 5:15-16, highlighting Jesus' practice of frequently withdrawing to solitary places for prayer.

"The message is clear," Father Ugwu emphasized, "Jesus did not pray loudly in the streets or neighborhoods."

Drawing from Mark 1:35, which depicts Jesus rising early to pray in seclusion, Father Ugwu stressed that Jesus' public prayers were reserved for significant events like raising Lazarus or casting out demons.

"Almost all the times he wanted to really talk with the Father, he did it privately," Father Ugwu noted.

The reverend highlighted Matthew 6:5-8 to reinforce his point, quoting Jesus: "And when you pray, do not imitate the hypocrites... But when you pray, go to your private room, shut yourself in, and so pray to your Father who is in that secret place."
