Fubara: 'We Have Two Options That Excites Us After The Appeal Court Judgment' - Nname Ewor

Nname Ewor, the Leader of the PDP in Rivers West Senatorial District and a supporter of the Pro Fubara Group, claims that lawmakers supporting Pro Fubara are considering two promising options after the Court of Appeal's ruling. He emphasized that the first option involves appealing the judgment to the Supreme Court, which the House of Assembly has already directed its legal team to pursue.

He explained that the second option stems from the Court of Appeal judges' comments, which acknowledged the departure of specific individuals without delving into the core issues. He mentioned that the judges' decision centered solely on jurisdiction, stating that the state High Court lacked the power to handle the case. He also disclosed that as a result, they have instructed that a formal lawsuit be filed at the Federal High Court.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, ''The Rivers State government and the Rivers State house of Assembly is not deterred by that judgement. Because we have two options that excites us after the appeal Court Judgment. And one of the option is to appeal that judgement at the Supreme Court which the House of Assembly has already directed the legal team to do.

The second option is that the Judges of Court of Appeal have clearly told us that these persons have defected and we are not touching the substance of the matter. The Judges only ruled on the issue of jurisdiction which they say the state High Court had done. So they have simply directed us to file a proper suit at the Federal High Court. Whether the 27 lawmakers led by Martins Amaewhule are still members of the State House of Assembly based on the judgement is not there because the Court did not say so.''
