Kenyans have responded to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino's statements calling former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to step down as Africa Union Chairman and instead lead them to State House.

Addressing the crowd today in Siaya during Fred Omondi's final send-off, which included several Azimio-aligned political leaders, Babu Owino admitted that now is the time for Raila Odinga to realise his long-held presidential ambitions. Babu emphasised the Gen Z generation's preparedness to spark a revolution in Kenya, but also stressed the importance of having a leader to guide them.

Kenyans responding to Babu Owino's words have stated that they do not require Raila Odinga's participation in the Gen Z revolution. They respect Raila Odinga's important contributions to the country, but believe it is time for him to take a step back and see how events evolve. They argue for a young and active leader, pointing out that Raila's age exceeds their expectations for leadership.

Others contend that Raila is not a viable candidate, given his participation in the handshake administration with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, which they claim resulted in massive corruption, extrajudicial killings, and theft of public monies, inflicting enormous misery for millions of Kenyan citizens. They argue that Raila, Matiang'i, and Ruto are no longer desirable. Instead, they push for new, charismatic leaders that bring a new viewpoint and vitality to the country. Below are the comments.
