'I joined the military to avoid early marriage' - President Buhari

According to a report by Tribune online newspaper, The president of the republic of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Bubari shared the story of how he joined the military to avoid early marriage.

President Muhammadu Buhari uncovered this in Daura when he visited the Emir of Daura, Faruq Umar Faruk after commissioning of two roads in the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari narrated that he was forced by his family to go and get married after school and he secured his first job at a cooperative store. He said because he did not want to marry that early, he had to fled to military to avoid the pressure of him getting married.

Buhari also narrated his experience in the military where he said that he had survived many battles in life and gave thanks to God for safety in lifes journey over many years.

Buhari recounted the years of battle during the Nigerian Civil war and some personal challenges as testimonies of divine protection and guidance while observing that the destiny of man, country and the world remind in the hands of God.

"I was at the wat front during the civil war and saw how many died. Some fell right beside me. God kept me."
