Rivers: Fubara Should Know He's Being Distracted, Nobody Will Take Excuse From Him - Cletus Obun

opera.com 1 day ago

During a conversation with Arise News, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers was cautioned by Cletus Obun, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, to focus on his responsibilities and not place the blame for his difficulties on outside forces.

Obun warned Fubara not to blame any failures on diversions from Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stressing that it is his duty as Governor to accept accountability for his actions.

He pointed out that Wike, a former governor, is aware of the duties associated with the position and promises not to obstruct Fubara's advancement.

He emphasized that Fubara should not depend on Abuja's justifications regarding distractions and instead acknowledge his responsibility as the governor of Rivers State and fulfill his commitments.

Cletus Obun said, "I want to sound a note of warning. The Governor should concentrate because you're focused on achieving; you cannot come after four years and tell us that you're being disturbed by the Minister of FCT."

"He should know that he's the governor of Rivers State. Nobody will take the excuse that somebody was distracting him because, as Minister of FCT, Wike himself is a Governor by our constitution."

"The Governor of Rivers State should know that he's being distracted, and nobody will take an excuse from him that it was the distraction from Abuja; that's why he could not perform."
