Rivers crisis: Wike is Fubara’s mentor, political investment – APC Chairman

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Caretaker Committee Chairman of Rivers State, Tony Okocha has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike as the mentor of Governor Sim Fubara.

Okocha said Fubara was Wike’s political investment, stressing that the former wouldn’t have been a governor without the backing of the minister.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Okocha also explained the reason behind the rift between Wike and Fubara.

According to Okocha, the need to preserve Wike’s political structure in Rivers was behind the feud with Fubara.

Edo: APC not behind PDP crisis – Oshiomhole

Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole has distanced the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the crisis surrounding the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primary election in the state.

Oshiomhole, said the law does not allow APC to interfere in PDP’s primary election conflict.

The Abuja Federal High Court, had nullified the primary elections conducted by the PDP that produced Asue Ighodalo as its governorship candidate in Edo State.

The court voided the primary election conducted on February 22, 2024, because 378 delegates were unlawfully excluded by PDP.

Osun police arrest ally to alleged kidnap kingpin, Emir, several others

The Osun State Police Command, has arrested one John Olowosaye, who allegedly conspired with Olalekan Oyeyemi, a.k.a Emir, in the abduction of some people in Ede sometime in August 2023.

The Osun police command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, revealed this while addressing journalists, while parading suspects at the Police Command headquarters in Osogbo on Friday.

Opalola revealed that after abducting his victims, the perpetrators brought them to Balogun Area in Osogbo, where a ransom of N2.6 million was paid to the account of Oyeyemi.

She added that Olowosaye, was arrested after a police investigation uncovered him as one of the perpetrators.

Makinde presents staff, instrument of office to Alaawe

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, has presented staff and instrument of office to the Alaawe of Aawe, Oba Cornelius Taiwo Oladokun.

The governor made the presentations on Friday.

DAILY POST reports that Makinde, had earlier presented staff of office to Onifiditi of Fiditi in the same local government area a few days ago.

While presenting the items, he charged the monarch to collaborate with the government to improve security in his domain.
