Segun Sowunmi, a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has provided his perspective on the ongoing conflict that is taking place within the organizational body.
You may recall that the former governor of Rivers State, Wike, who is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), did not support the presidential aspiration of his party's candidate for the 2023 elections. However, he did back Bola Tinubu, who is a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and pursued the presidency.
The internal crisis, on the other hand, is a result of the struggle between the camps of Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President, and Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to dominate the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
Therefore, in response to this, Sowunmi remarked that individuals such as Atiku Abubakar are of enormous significance to the party. He also stated that any action taken by the PDP leader has significant repercussions with regard to the party.
During an interview with Arise News, Segun Sowunmi said, "People like Atiku are not small; if they cough, it has an implication, and if they don't, it has an implication.".
