In response to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)'s declaration of its zero tolerance for obstruction of its operations, Professor Chidi Odinkalu has expressed his disapproval, particularly regarding the EFCC's handling of the matter, in a statement via his official X account.

Taking to Twitter, Professor Odinkalu criticized the EFCC's approach, questioning its decision not to address the statement directly to the sitting governor of Kogi State and his immediate predecessor, who are blood relatives.

He wrote, "Another piece of waste from a #drainpipe entity: @officialEFCC lacks the gumption or authority to name & address this release to the sitting governor of Kogi State & his immediate predecessor - a blood relation. Instead, it reserves its institutional muscles for irrelevance."

The professor's tweet highlights his dissatisfaction with the EFCC's failure to target specific individuals allegedly obstructing the commission's operations.

He underlined the need for the EFCC to address such matters directly with those involved, rather than issuing generalized statements.

Professor Odinkalu's criticism underlines the ongoing debate surrounding the EFCC's effectiveness and its handling of high-profile cases.
