Wike: He Goes On Social Media, Wears This Winter Jacket. He's Dancing Like A Clown - Laolu Akande

Laolu Akande, the former assistant to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, recently spoke out against Wike's social media behaviour in an interview with Channels Television. Akande said that Wike shouldn't act like a governor and that he should take a page out of President Tinubu's playbook.

In particular, Akande brought up a video that surfaced on social media showing Wike dancing while wearing a winter jacket—something that, in his opinion, is inappropriate attire for a governor.

He voiced his apprehension that Wike's behaviour would damage the credibility of the administration and himself. Akande urged Wike to take a more dignified attitude, citing President Tinubu's example.

He made the observation that, in light of the present political atmosphere, Wike is, second only to the president, one of the most important people.

But he was critical of Wike's actions, bringing up the fact that Wike appeared on social media wearing a winter coat and dancing in what he called a clownish way. Noting that President Tinubu never openly behaved in such a way, he added that Wike should be reminded to follow Tinubu's example.

During an interview on Channels Television, he remarked "If you look at the political dimensions, the political dispensation today, after the President, some will argue that Wike will be the most influential."

"But his behavior is becoming unbecoming. First of all, he goes on social media and wears this winter jacket. He's dancing like a clown, and you have his engagement of his, this broad with his own governor."

"Somebody should tell him that. Look at the trajectory of President Tinubu, whom you're serving. Did you ever find him behave in such a way that you're behaving publicly?"
