Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has directed all the Local Government Chairmen in the state to adopt the state weekly "prosperity" walk in their council areas in order to boost their healthy living.
Governor Diri took to his official X handle to make this known Saturday after his daily fitness morning exercise in Yenegoa, the Bayelsa capital.
"After my daily fitness exercise this morning (Saturday), I have directed our Local Government Chairmen to immediately adopt the State Weekly Prosperity Walk in their respective Council Headquarters every Thursday to boost the healthy living of the people." Said, Governor
He said further, "The Chairman of my Local Government Area, Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA, Mr. Tariye Lelei, who is incidentally the Chairman of the Association Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in the State has been asked to communicate this directive to his colleagues.
"Health indeed is wealth and this decision is for the overall benefit of our people."
