Yahaya Bello Didn't Spend Kogi Funds On Children's Fees- Ex-Govs Media Office

The media office of a former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has refuted the allegations that the former governor used the state funds to pay his children’s school fees.

The statement was in response to the press conference held on Tuesday by the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede.

Olukoyede had alleged that Bello withdrew cash from the Kogi State Government Account, exchanged it through Bureau De Change operators, and used the funds to pay his children’s school fees in advance before leaving office.

Eze Dies At 65

The senator who represented Enugu North senatorial zone and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and Media, Senator Ayogu Eze, is dead.

Eze who was in the National Assembly between 2007 and 2015 died yesterday in an Abuja hospital at the age of 65 after suffering from an undisclosed illness.

For the eight years he spent at the Senate, Eze was a member of the Constitution Drafting and Amendment Committee that made some novel changes to Nigeria’s 1999 constitution.


Tinubu Makes New Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has appointment Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA).

The President has also appointed of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). These appointments were made known in a statement signed by the President’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday.


Gov Mbah Mourns Ayogu Eze, Says It's Monumental Loss

Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has expressed deep grief over the death of member representing Enugu State on the Board of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and a former lawmaker representing Enugu North Senatorial Zone, Senator Ayogu Eze.

Mbah, who said it had been difficult to come to terms with the development, described it as as a monumental loss to the state and Nigeria as a whole, noting that the late Senator Ayogu served the nation creditably starting from his home state, Enugu, where he served in several capacities to the national level where he served in both the legislative and executive arms of government.

Mbah expressed his grief in a statement he personally signed on Friday, saying that the state would stand by Ayogu’s family in this time of grief and prayed God to grant the deceased’s soul eternal rest.
