The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has sparked reactions on social media after showing off her garden.
In a post she made on X, formerly known as Twitter, the First Lady revealed that she planted seven different vegetables in the garden.
She also disclosed that she was recently at the farm to see how her crops were doing. She said that she tended to the crops and watered them by herself.
She urged every home to have a garden where they plant crops for their own use. She said having a garden in every home is part of the Renewed Home Initiative, which she said is aimed at inculcating the habit of farming in the society from the family unit and promote the consumption of healthy foods.
She encouraged every family in the country to own a garden in their home and get involved in farming and food production.
She said, "#EveryHomeAGarden competition by the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, is not just a competition. It aims to inculcate the habit of farming and food production into the society right from the family unit and promote eating healthy foods.
"Earlier today, I was at my garden to tend to it and water my plants myself. I have planted 7 different vegetables.
"I would like to encourage all Nigerian women to join the #EveryHomeAGarden competition and get involved in farming and food production."
