According to the report from the Sun, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), North-West Zone, Elder Sunday Oibe has declined to comment on the recent speculation surrounding the fuel subsidy removal, emphasizing the need for clear and verifiable information before forming an opinion.

Acknowledging the political complexities and the blurring of lines between politics and governance, he highlighted the challenges of discerning accurate information amid rumors and hearsay.

He expressed hesitation to engage in the argument without a deeper grasp of the facts, citing El-Rufai's history of conflicting comments.

He was referring to the assertion that the government is still paying for the subsidy, which was made by Nasir El-Rufai, who had previously served as the governor of Kaduna State. The statement that he made was, "Well, I don't respond to speculations."

If they supply us with facts and we are aware of them, then we will discuss the matter. mainly due to the fact that there are a great deal of events taking place in this political era. In the realm of governance, there are those who have refused to disclose political manoeuvring.

Today, government is a serious business, and politics is no longer a relevant topic. I was able to hear Nasir El-rufai, who had previously served as the governor of Kaduna State, stating that the fuel subsidy had not been eliminated and that the government is still supporting it.

The fact that El-rufai speaks from both sides of his mouth at the same time, however, makes it difficult for people to believe what he says. It is for this reason that I will not be able to join the stream of remarks regarding this matter until we are able to have all of the facts.
