Arsenal has initiated contact with Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding the possible transfer of goalkeeper Dan Bentley, according to The Athletic. With David Raya as the first-choice goalkeeper and Aaron Ramsdale as his deputy, the Gunners are seeking a reliable backup option. Karl Hein, who recently signed a long-term contract, is expected to be loaned out next season.

Bentley, a former Arsenal academy player (ages 8-15), has impressed with his reflexes and distribution skills during his time at Brentford, Bristol City, and Wolves. Although he has made only seven appearances for Wolves in two seasons, he remains a valuable asset for manager Gary O'Neil.

Arsenal's interest in Bentley comes amid rumors of Ramsdale's potential departure. To secure Bentley's services, the Gunners may need to make a substantial offer, as Wolves are unwilling to sell unless they receive a suitable proposal. Additionally, Arsenal is pursuing a deal for Bologna's Riccardo Calafiori, with advanced talks ongoing regarding payment terms.

Bentley's potential reunion with his former club could be a tempting prospect, but Wolves' reluctance to sell may complicate the transfer process.
