Seun Onigbinde, a Nigerian economist and co-founder of BudgIT, has expressed his disapproval of Muhammadu Buhari, the former president of Nigeria, for his decision to nominate Sabo Nanono to the position of minister of agriculture and rural development during his administration. He said that such a nomination would be disastrous for the nation under consideration.
During an interview with Seun Okinbaloye a few hours ago, Seun Onigbinde made this comment, in which he criticised the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with regard to his cabinet, the budget for the year 2024, and the policies that are established by his government.
It has been said by Seun Onigbinde that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's cabinet and the budget for the year 2024 are not adequate. In addition, he has stated that his policies continue to bring Nigerians backward.
Seun Onigbinde, on the other hand, responded to a question on whether the cabinet that was under previous President Muhammadu Buhari was superior to the government that is currently under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by stating that it was not because the individuals who were under the former president's cabinet did not differentiate themselves.
Furthermore, Seun Onigbinde noted that the calibre of an individual is known when he or she leaves the government. He added that individuals such as Okonjo-Iweala, Omobola Johnson, and Akinwumi Adesina are not jobless even after they have left their positions in public office.
The economist then stated that;
"Those are the people who have quality, you go and carry somebody who is a retired military man, Sabo Nanono and put him as minister of agriculture, an entire disaster, what kind of cabinet is that? You carried Adamu Adamu for nearly 8 years as minister of education, where is his legacy?"
