Bisola Aiyeola, known from Big Brother Naija and her acting career, has addressed criticism about her parenting style. During a recent episode of "Mums Next Door" with Maria Chike, Bisola discussed the backlash she’s received for not allowing her 15-year-old daughter to have a phone until she turns 16.

Despite the negative feedback, Bisola stands by her decision. She explained that her daughter can use a laptop for school-related activities and to communicate with friends via Zoom. She also recounted an instance where she discovered her daughter had created a smart chat account on her laptop. As a consequence, Bisola decided to extend the phone ban for another year.

Bisola said, "I've faced judgment for my parenting choices. My daughter turned 15 this year and still doesn't have a phone. I've been firm on this, despite her pleading. I've told her she can get a phone at 16, so she has one more year to wait. Some people question what would happen in an emergency or if she'll lag behind her peers, but she has a laptop for schoolwork and friends can contact her on Zoom. Some think I'm being too strict or overprotective, but that's their opinion.

"There was an occasion when I found out she created a smart chat account on her laptop, and I disciplined her for it. This led me to extend her phone ban by another year because she was supposed to get it this year at 15."

What are your thoughts on Bisola's approach to parenting and the use of technology?
