In a recent statement, former Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the South East governors meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

The governors met with the President to press for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

This meeting followed a marathon discussion with former President Olusegun Obasanjo which lasted over seven hours.

"The South East Governors visit to the President over Kanu’s matter is a good and commendable step. Its an opportunity to explore a political solution. No price is too high for a genuine and guaranteed peace. The nation cannot sleep well on a three legged bed," Shehu Sani wrote.

Shehu Sani underlined the importance of this meeting and highlighted the current state of the nation.

The meeting between the South East governors and President Tinubu is seen as an important move.

It aims to address the ongoing issues surrounding the detention of Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanu has been a central figure in the agitation for Biafra’s independence.

The South East governors’ initiative reflects a desire for a peaceful and political solution.

They believe that dialogue is important for resolving the tensions.

Shehu Sani’s support for this move is notable.

He has been a vocal voice for peace and dialogue in Nigeria and his statement adds weight to the governors' efforts.

This development is part of general efforts to bring stability to the region.

The South East has experienced unrest due to the activities of IPOB and Kanu’s detention.

The outcome of the meeting with President Tinubu is yet to be seen.

However, the initiative is a hopeful sign for those seeking a peaceful resolution.
