I’m Afraid, I Don’t Have Magic Wand That Can Bring Peace Between Fubara And Assembly - Magnus Abe

Magnus Abe, a former senator from the Rivers South East Senatorial District, has recognized that the Rivers State House of Assembly and Governor Fubara are at odds.

The Sun reported that Magnus did, however, acknowledge that he was unsure of the precise origin of the conflict.

He said that if the governor and the House of Assembly are prepared to work toward a mutual understanding, a resolution could be achievable, despite the fact that each party has its own commitments and points on the matter.

He acknowledged that he is not an expert on the subject and is thus unable to provide a "magic wand" answer, underscoring the difficulty of the problem and the necessity of conducting internal discussions in order to come up with a workable solution.

He stated, "I don’t know what the fundamental cause of the dispute is.

"But I know that the governor (Fubara) himself has a clear idea of how he became the governor, and the members of the House of Assembly also have a clear idea of their obligations to Rivers State."

"I think if the parties are able to reach an accommodation, they can work out a situation where there can be some measure of progress. In the absence of that, I’m afraid, I really don’t have any magic wand that can bring peace to the situation."
