If they want to return back to PDP, let them come through the door; we'll welcome them- Amaewhule
Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Martins Amaewhule, has reached out to former party members who defected to the Action Peoples Party (APP). "Let them come through the door; we'll find a way to welcome them"—Amaewhule said in a video shared by Symfoni TV—if they want to return back to PDP.
The PDP's inclusive stance and dedication to preserve unity among its members are reflected in this gesture. Although the defectors may have been swayed by outside forces, Amaewhule stressed that the PDP is still willing to work with them to make amends and work together for the benefit of the party and the country.
Some former PDP members reportedly felt dissatisfied after defecting to the APP, prompting the declaration. The difficulties of joining a less-established political platform have reportedly caused several to rethink their decision. He restated that the PDP's record of successful leadership and development in Rivers State makes it an unstoppable political force.
