Ex-Labour Party presidential campaign spokesman Kenneth Okonkwo recently wrote an article titled "Fallen Democracy" in which he harshly criticised Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president of Nigeria.
According to Okonkwo, a seasoned actor and political analyst, President Tinubu failed miserably in his 2023 presidential campaign attempt to imitate MKO Abiola's "Hope 93" campaign.
Okonkwo claims in a recent essay for THE SUN that the people charged with defending democracy in Africa are putting their own interests ahead of the interests of the continent's citizens by favouring corrupt dictators.
"The incumbent that is seeking to emulate Hope 93 in 2023 is the exact opposite of Abiola," he explained in Kenneth Okonkwo's piece. His point was that Tinubu's presidential campaign rivals, like Professor Yemi Osinbajo, are now seen as political enemies. Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was accused of betraying him because she ran for president alongside him, as pointed out by Okonkwo. Almost everyone who ran against Trump is now officially his political enemy.
