Renowned musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently asserted that his family plays a significant role in providing electricity to a substantial portion of Nigeria.

In an appearance on the American podcast 'Business Untitled,' Davido discussed his family's business ventures and personal investments.

He revealed that his family possesses four power plants, which make substantial contributions to Nigeria's energy requirements.

Davido stated, "At one point, I explored cryptocurrency because of its popularity in Nigeria. Additionally, my family and I own four lucrative power plants that supply energy to a considerable part of Nigeria."

He also mentioned his wife's interest in culinary arts, with plans to establish a restaurant for her. However, he emphasized that his primary focus remains on his passion: music.

While Davido's family boasts wealth and investments in the energy sector, some observers may question the extent of their influence in Nigeria's energy supply chain.

It's worth noting that a significant portion of Nigeria's major thermal and hydropower plants are government-owned.
