In the Guto area of Bwari Area Council, residents were gripped by fear and sleeplessness as bandits launched an attack. A local resident recounted the harrowing experience, detailing that the incident began around 12:30 a.m. and continued until almost 3 a.m. Initially, the residents mistook the gunfire for the vigilance group's activity, but the relentless shooting soon made it clear that something far more sinister was occurring.

According to Vanguard News, the resident expressed their distress over the night's events: "What happened last night was very unfortunate. We couldn’t sleep from 12:30 a.m. when they started until almost three o’clock. Initially, we thought it was the vigilance teams who were shooting, but when it became persistent, we knew these people were back again. We have had peace for some time now, but unfortunately, they have resumed, and this time with full force because it was two groups that entered Bwari that night. One was in Guto while the other group was in Piyawe."

The bandits' attack resulted in the tragic death of one individual and the kidnapping of four others. The resident's account highlights the terror and uncertainty that gripped the community throughout the night. The recent peace the area had enjoyed was shattered by this coordinated assault, leaving residents in a state of fear and anxiety.

This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region, where periods of calm are frequently disrupted by violent incursions. The coordinated nature of the attack, with two separate groups targeting different areas, suggests a level of organization and intent that adds to the residents' alarm. As the community mourns the loss and grapples with the kidnapping of their fellow residents, the need for enhanced security measures and effective intervention becomes ever more pressing.
